Opting to bat first, Bangladesh with Mehidy Hasan Miraz's 112 runs and Najmul Hossain Shanto's 104 runs managed to set huge target of 335 runs for Afghanistan to get. Shakib Al Hasan also played quick inning of 18 balls unbeaten 32 runs in later overs for Bangladesh as well.
Following huge target of 335 runs, Afghanistan team all out scoring 245 runs in 44.3 overs and lost the match by huge margins of 89 runs. Ibrahim Zadran with 75 runs and Hashmatullah Shahidi with 51 runs were top scorers for Afghanistan. Taskin Ahmed took 4 wickets and Shoriful Islam picked up 3 wickets for Bangladesh as well. Mehidy Hasan Miraz declared man of the match for his 112 runs and 1 wicket.

Bangladesh vs Afghanistan Asia Cup 2023 Highlights: Injury hit Bangladesh would look to turn the table against Afghanistan in their must-win second Group B match of the Asia Cup in Lahore on Sunday.
Bangladesh lost the opening match against Afghanistan by five wickets, with batting letting them down. Afghanistan, on the other hand, head into the tournament on the back of a 0-3 ODI series loss to Pakistan. It would test of character for batter Hashmatullah Shahidi, who will lead Afghanistan in the Asia Cup.
Afghanistan would take heart from the fact that they had won a three-match ODI series against Bangladesh 2-1 in June-July this year. They had lost the preceding two-match T20 series against Bangladesh 0-2. Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been in great form in ODI cricket of late. He hit centuries against both Pakistan and Bangladesh in the ODI series they played recently.
